Lab Overview

Resources and techniques available in the lab

Our lab harnesses the combination of behavioral experiments along with task-based, resting-state, pharmacological functional neuroimaging as well as computational modeling approaches to mechanistically understand neural circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders.
Methodologically, our lab harnesses the combination of task-based, resting-state, pharmacological functional neuroimaging, as well as computational modeling approaches to mechanistically understand neural circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders. Our experimental approaches depend on the combination of these tools to better understand the mechanistic links between neural circuit dysfunction and complex cognitive and affective processes and behaviors. Our group is fortunate to have access to a number of state-of-the-art resources that the Yale Neuroscience community offers as well as those available within the Psychiatry Department. Our lab is closely affiliated with the Connecticut Mental Health Center, which provides an excellent environment to conduct behavioral and outpatient studies for interested volunteers. All our neuroimaging work takes place at the Anlyan Center which houses the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research. There our group has access to state-of-the-art Siemens scanners capable of acquiring data using latest neuroimaging pulse sequences directly implemented following the Human Connectome Project methods in collaboration with the Van Essen lab. Finally, in addition to our lab servers we work closely with the Yale High Performance Computing Center to accomplish our computationally intensive modeling and neuroimaging analyses.
